The Evansville Police Department is urging drivers to slow down and drive with caution while crews work on a sewer lining project near Downtown Evansville.

On or about Wednesday, July 31, at 2 a.m. contractors will begin installing a liner in a 54-inch sewer pipe at the Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant. This project will take four weeks to complete, weather permitting. Lining crews will work around the clock, while other contractors will work from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, until the project is finished.

As a result of this project, the outer eastbound lane will be closed (there may be times when both eastbound and westbound lanes will be affected). The speed limit will be reduced to 30 mph throughout the duration of the construction. That being said, The Evansville Police Department has said that they will have increased patrols along Veterans Memorial Parkway to encourage motorists to slow down.

You can see more on this project and what the Evansville Police Department had to say in regards to in in the post below.
