Owensboro’s Loads Of Love Event Supports Neighbors In Need
Free Laundry Day in Owensboro Offers a Little Help and a Lot of Heart
Let's be real, prices are getting more expensive, and doing basic chores seem to be a burden. One thing I love about Evansville is seeing the community try to make things easier for other community members. An event called Loads of Love is giving folks in Owensboro a chance to take one chore off their plate completely free.
So keep in mind on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the laundromat at AC Discount Coin Laundry will open its doors to anyone needing to wash clothes, no cost, no catch.
More Than Just Clean Clothes
And like I said, it’s not just about laundry. Its about being helping out other people.
From noon to 2 p.m., they’ll also be serving up hot dogs, chips, and bottled water because sometimes a warm meal and a friendly face go just as far as a clean outfit.
A Community Stepping Up
The event is sponsored by Macedonia Baptist Church, and it’s all about lending a helping hand in a simple but meaningful way.
Because let’s be real laundry adds up, every cent adds up, and depending how many loads of laundry you have to do it's still money you don't want to spend. Between the cost of machines, detergent, and time, something as basic as clean clothes can become a real burden for some families.
Why It Matters
Events like this might seem small on the surface, but they can make a big difference.
It’s about dignity. It’s about community. And it’s about showing people they’re not alone even in something as everyday as doing the laundry. So spread the word. Whether it’s a neighbor, a friend, or even yourself everyone deserves a fresh start and a small break.
