Downtown Evansville Is Bringing Asian Food, Music and More to Carpenter Street
If there is one thing that can convince me to spend a Friday night downtown, it is good food and this September, Downtown Evansville is giving us a chance to try something a little different.
An evening market celebrating Asian food, culture and local businesses is coming to Carpenter Street in Downtown Evansville on Friday, September 11, 2026.
The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will bring together authentic Asian cuisine, local vendors, Downtown Evansville businesses, music and plenty of entertainment.
An Evening of Food, Music and Fun in Downtown Evansville
If you are anything like me, the food alone is probably enough to get your attention.
The evening market will feature authentic Asian cuisine and products, giving Tri-State residents an opportunity to discover different dishes, flavors and local vendors all in one place.
However, you do not have to be a foodie to have a good time.
There will also be karaoke, live music, Downtown businesses and local vendors throughout the evening. Basically, you can grab something to eat, do a little shopping, listen to music and, if you are brave enough, possibly take your turn at karaoke.
Sounds like a pretty solid Friday night to me.
Local Asian Cooks, Restaurants and Creatives Can Get Involved
Downtown Evansville is also looking for vendors to participate in the event.
Asian cooks, restaurants, vendors and creatives interested in being part of the evening market can submit a vendor application. Organizers note that the market is exclusively open to vendors selling authentic Asian cuisine and/or products.

Whether you want to try something new, support local businesses or simply need an excuse to get out of the house on a Friday night, this could be a fun way to spend an evening in Downtown Evansville.
