How far are you willing to drive for the perfect find? For the opportunity to uncover hidden antiques, score vintage treasures, or find that one-of-a-kind piece that sparks conversation?

Why This Flea Market Is Worth The Drive

Just a little over five hours north of Evansville sits a destination that bargain hunters and treasure seekers absolutely rave about – the Shipshewana Trading Place Auction & Flea Market. But calling it just a flea market seems like a bit of an understatement. It is the largest in Indiana and the entire Midwest, and its 2026 season is almost here.

What You Can Expect To Find

Now, don’t let the small-town charm of Shipshewana fool you. With a population of just over 800, you might expect something quaint – but what you’ll actually find is massive. This is a shopping experience that spans more than 40 acres – roughly the size of 30 football fields – and features nearly 700 vendors. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend the entire day wandering, browsing, and discovering something new around every corner.

And here’s something you definitely don’t want to miss – every Wednesday, the on-site auction house comes alive with as many as nine auctioneers calling bids at the same time. It’s fast-paced, a little chaotic, and completely unforgettable.
