Gigantic TN Flea Market — One of the Nation’s Biggest — Will Keep You Busy for Hours If Not Days
I will casually drive past the Consumers Mall or some similar facility with ANOTHER destination on the docket and then just wheel in to see what's new...well, new to whatever flea market I happen to be visiting when the mood strikes.
Flea Markets -- America's Storage Units for Hidden Gems
True, I have come away empty-handed more often than not, but it's those special occasions when something screams at me from the rack or the counter that make all the other fruitless trips worthwhile. I mean, there's no way you're going to find that "magic purchase" every time you visit a flea market.
But maybe that isn't the case with one of the biggest in the land. And it's not a far drive; Nashville never is. Yes, it's the Nashville Flea Market, and it attracts fans from all over the country. And why not? It attracts VENDORS from ten states.
The Nashville Flea Market -- One of the Country's Biggest
And, if you're a "romance junkie," get ready. Even though Valentine's Day has come and gone, love is in the air at The Fairgrounds in Nashville where the Nashville Flea Market will host, well, "Romance Junkies Weekend."
Why, might you ask, is the Nashville Flea Market hosting such a weekend AFTER the most romantic day of the year? Honestly...I really don't know for sure, but I can make a guess. The Nashville Flea Market's whole thing is that it's only open for one weekend a month, and that's the final weekend.
The Enormity of the Nashville Flea Market
So I guess there using the entire month of February's sometimes overarching "love" theme to create a special Nashville Flea Market weekend. Of course, ALL Nashville Flea Market weekends are special. Thefairgrounds.com explains why:
Approximately 800 to 1200 dealers and vendors from 30 states offer their wares to the buying public every month. With an average of 2000 booths, The Tennessee Magazine and Busy Bee Trader continue to vote the Nashville Flea Market as the #1 FLEA MARKET in Tennessee.
Frankly, you could find something for that special person in your life EVERY month at the Nashville Flea Market, but this is the month love is on everyone's mind. So yeah, why not lean into it? Who knows? You might find rare and cool gems like these:
The History of the Nashville Flea Market
The Nashville Flea Market is nothing new in central Tennessee...something for which longtime patrons can vouch. It opened in 1969 as a way for local and non-local vendors to earn a living. It has grown exponentially in the intervening 50-plus years with roughly half a million visitors each year.
When Can You Visit the Nashville Flea Market?
But again, plan accordingly. The Nashville Flea Market IS only open one full three-day weekend each month, and it's always the last FULL weekend. However, I have a feeling that once you visit, you will darken its doors on many more occasions.
You know something? I could actually SEE doing all of my Christmas shopping there. Hmm, maybe I'll see you in December...if not (much) sooner.
