As is customary for the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA), the pairings for the upcoming Sectional round of the state tournament were announced on Sunday, one week before the regular season wraps up. The pairings announced show some teams will face familiar foes to open the tournament, while others will match up against teams they have not yet seen.

In Class A the 1-7 Tell City Marksmen will travel to Linton, Indiana to take on the 7-1 Miners, while 7-1 Perry Central will take the bus to Oakland City to face the winless Wood Memorial Trojans. Also in Class A, 3-5 North Daviess will take on 3-5 Tecumseh, and 5-3 North Central Farmersburg will host 3-5 North Knox.

In Class 2A, 4-4 Forest Park will host 2-6 North Posey, while undefeated Mater Dei will be home at the Reitz Bowl to face the 2-6 Rebels of South Spencer.

Class 3A finds the 2-6 Memorial Tigers heading north to face the 6-2 Tigers of Princeton High School, while 4-4 Mount Vernon hosts 1-7 Pike Central. Elsewhere the undefeated Titans of Gibson Southern will head up Highway 41 to take on 4-4 Vincennes Lincoln, 6-2 Sullivan will stay home to face 1-7 Washington, 6-2 Southridge will host undefeated North Harrison, and 7-1 Heritage Hills travels just northeast of Louisville to match up against 6-2 Charlestown.

Class 4A finds the majority of Evansville schools with the undefeated Reitz Panthers traveling down First Avenue to meet the 4-4 Central Bears, 2-6 Bosse will head into Warrick County to face the 5-3 Boonville Pioneers, while 6-2 Harrison makes the long trip to Elletsville, IN (roughly 15 minutes northwest of Bloomington) to take on 3-5 Edgewood, and 7-1 Jasper hosts 7-1 Owen Valley.

Two teams that just met in Week Eight will open the Class 5A Sectional when the 4-4 Castle Knights host the 1-7 North Huskies.
