A Newburgh Favorite Needs Our Help, The Rooster's Den is Struggling

If you've ever grabbed breakfast or lunch at The Rooster's Den in Newburgh, now is the time to show up for them. When I went there for breakfast the very first time I remember looking across the table and saying "oh ya this is going to be our new breakfast spot." And it is!

However, the beloved local comfort food spot posted on social media this week that they closed early on Wednesday and remained closed Thursday due to extremely slow business. And I took their message to heart.

What They Said

The Rooster's Den didn't sugarcoat it. They came right out and told their community the truth, weekdays have become really tough. While their weekends stay steady, the weekday traffic just isn't there right now, and when you factor in rising food costs, utilities, fuel, and staffing, even a few slow days can put serious strain on a small restaurant.

They're not asking for sympathy. They're just asking you to keep them in mind next time you're deciding where to grab breakfast, a cup of coffee, or lunch during the week. I know a banana on the road or grabbing your breakfast through a drive thru is convenient but if you have a little extra time keep your local restaurants in mind.

Why This is Happening

The Rooster's Den isn't alone in this. With summer vacation in full swing, a lot of families are traveling, kids are busy with sports, and people are being more careful with how they spend their money. That means local restaurants, especially smaller, locally owned ones are feeling the squeeze from both sides. Fewer customers coming in AND higher costs to keep the doors open.

It's a tough spot to be in, and it's happening to good places all over the Tri-State area.

Why The Rooster's Den is Worth Supporting

This is the kind of place that makes a community feel like home. Real comfort food, locally owned, right in the heart of Newburgh. The kind of spot where the staff knows your name and the food tastes like someone actually made it with care. We don't want to see places like this disappear and the only way to keep them around is to actually walk through the door.

Here's How You Can Help

It's simple, just go eat there. Bring a friend. Bring your family. Grab coffee on a Tuesday morning instead of hitting a drive-through chain. Every single visit makes a real difference to a small business like this.
