You Won’t Believe How Many Burgers Were Eaten at This Mount Carmel Restaurant
He Thought He'd Eat 40 Burger Patties... He Ended Up Crushing 50 in Mount Carmel
Well... that escalated quickly.
When competitive eater Randy Santel announced he was coming to Mount Carmel to take on the Smashburger Patty Record Challenge at Two Farmers, he thought he might eat 35 or 40 patties.
Instead, he absolutely shattered the record.

The Old Record Didn't Last Long
On Monday afternoon, Santel took on the restaurant's Smashburger Patty Record Challenge with one hour to finish as many patties as he could.
The previous record stood at 30 cheeseburger patties, but that number didn't last very long.
Santel finished an incredible 50 cheeseburger patties in less than 20 minutes, smashing the previous record and still leaving more than 40 minutes on the clock.

Even Randy Was Surprised
After the challenge, Santel admitted he exceeded his own expectations.
"I did kind of surprise myself," he said. "I really didn't plan to finish all 50 in under 20 minutes. I kind of thought it was going to take more than 30 minutes. I knew I had an hour, but yeah, I'm really happy with my time. And then I finished 50 because I originally planned on doing just 40."
Considering he originally planned to stop around 40 patties, adding another 10 was just icing on the cake... or maybe cheese on the burger.
That's a Whole Lot of Beef
Altogether, the 50 cheeseburger patties weighed around six pounds.
It's the latest stop on Santel's journey as he travels across the country taking on restaurant food challenges and sharing the experience with his millions of followers online.
Could You Even Finish One?
Watching someone eat 50 cheeseburger patties in under 20 minutes is hard to wrap your head around, but that's exactly what happened in Mount Carmel.
If you happened to be there to witness it, we'd love to know what it was like. And if you weren't, the new record to beat at Two Farmers is officially 50 patties. Good luck to anyone brave enough to give it a shot.
