Newburgh Library Location Closing for Three Weeks, Here's What You Need to Know
If a trip to the library is part of your weekly routine, you'll want to double-check where you're headed before you grab your books and get in the car.
The Newburgh Chandler Public Library's Bell Road location is temporarily closing for renovations beginning August 10, and the closure is expected to last about three weeks.
Why Is the Bell Road Library Closing?
The temporary closure is happening so crews can update the library's HVAC system.
While three weeks without your usual library stop might throw a wrench into your routine, especially with kids heading back to school, there is another option nearby.
The Chandler Library branch will remain available and is extending its hours to help accommodate people while the Bell Road location is closed.
Chandler Library Is Extending Its Hours
During the temporary closure, you can visit the Chandler Library branch during these hours:
- Monday through Thursday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
So, while you may have to change where you're picking up your next book for a few weeks, you'll still have access to in-person library services at the Chandler location.
What About August Library Programs?
Here's another important thing to know if you already had something on your August calendar.
Programs scheduled at the Bell Road library during the closure have been canceled, so you'll want to check your plans before heading over for an event.
The Bell Road location is expected to reopen after approximately three weeks of renovations.
In the meantime, the extended hours at Chandler should hopefully make the temporary change a little easier for Newburgh library regulars.
