As Soon As Fall Mode Is Activated

If you’re anything like me, once September 1st hits, it’s game on for fall mode. The lemon-scented candles go back in storage, replaced by the warm, cozy aroma of apple spice. The sweaters come out, the boots make their annual debut, and suddenly every corner of the apartment has a splash of orange or a rustic plaid blanket draped somewhere “strategically.”

Apple Season: Sweet, Crisp, and Comforting

I’ll admit, I’m very particular about my seasonal habits. August and September? That’s apple season. Apple cider donuts, apple picking, apple crisp… you name it, I’m probably making it or buying it. There’s just something about that crisp, refreshing sweetness that feels like the perfect way to transition out of summer. It's still warm enough for it to smell fruity just not quite like lemons and pool weather.

October Arrives, and Pumpkin Takes Over

Once October rolls around, everything changes. The pumpkin candles take over. The line in Starbucks starts getting longer. The pumpkin patches open. The carving kits make their grand appearance, and pumpkin pie sneaks its way onto every dessert table. Just about any snack or drink that is made with a hint of pumpkin I find a way to make it apart of my routine. Pumpkins are basically the mascot of fall for me.

The Great Fall Flavor Debate

Still, I find myself wondering every year: if we had to pick just one… what’s the true flavor of fall? Apple or pumpkin?
Apple feels like that first cool breeze, the start of cozy weather. Pumpkin, on the other hand, feels like the heart of fall—warm, spiced, and just a step away from Christmas sneaking around the corner (but we’ll save that debate for another day).
