It has always been apparent, to a lot of us, how difficult nursing can be, but after the events of 2020, it became clear to everyone. Throughout the pandemic, we heard countless stories about nurses all around the county - their heroism, their sacrifice, their dedication, their passion, and the care they've provided our loved ones.

MY105.3 and Diamond Valley Federal Credit Union want to shine the spotlight on some of the amazing nurses here in the Tri-State. We asked you to nominate a special nurse and tell us what makes them so special. Each day this week - which happens to be Nurse's Week - we will randomly select a different nominated nurse and share their story online and on the air. The five nurses we choose will also be qualified to win a getaway to the French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana.

For Friday, May 14th, we want to recognize JULIE RUSSELL. Julie works with Mental Health and Addiction at NOW Counseling Services. We received the following nomination from Shay, one of Julie's coworkers...

Julie is a compassionate and dedicated a board certified Advanced Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner serving the Tri-State as the Medical Director for NOW Counseling Services in Rockport and Evansville, Indiana. Julie founded a strong med management and assistance program to connect clients recovering from substance use and other mental health disorders to the full care they need to heal and thrive in our communities. Julie dedicates her time to her patients' full wellness, always assisting with late night calls and crisis situations with a calm and caring demeanor, on top of being a wife and mother and active in her church community. She is a joy to work with and an even bigger joy for her clients. She deeply deserves recognition for all she does for our program supporting a Culture of Recovery in our communities!

From all of us here at MY105.3 and Diamond Valley Federal Credit Union, we want to say THANK YOU, Julie, for all you do each day! We appreciate you!
