I know that I speak for all of us here at MY105.3 and Townsquare Media when I say that regardless of the nurses that we recognized on the air recently, we appreciate every single one of the health care professionals serving the Tri-State. You may not have been nominated by anyone and you may not have gotten a shout-out on the air, but please know that we know how hard you’re working and how important you are.

Over the past couple of weeks, we asked listeners to nominate a nurse that is extra special, and to briefly explain what makes him or her so special. Let me tell you that the response was amazing – the nominations came pouring in. We then had the task of selecting one nominated nurse each day during the week of 5/10. There was no way we could choose purely based on the nomination – there’s no way we could this nurse is better or more deserving than that nurse – so we decided to make it completely random. From those five nurses, we had to randomly select a grand prize winner. What was/is the grand prize? It’s an overnight stay at the French Lick Resort, located in French Lick and West Baden, Indiana.

Who is the Lucky Nurse?

Congratulations to JESSICA BROWN! In case you need a reminder, Jessica was nominated by her mother, who had this to say about Jessica…

My daughter started out as a student nurse in 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital and ended up working there until 2021. She is a very dedicated, hard-working mother of two beautiful daughters. When she was expecting her second daughter, she worked to term through the pandemic. As most nurses do, she has worked through breaks and lunches! She does a great job and goes above and beyond for her patients! I think she deserves a nice getaway!

Next, it was time to deliver the good news, so we got Jessica and her mom on the phone. What made things even cooler is the fact that Jessica didn’t even know she had been nominated, so she was completely caught off guard by our call. You gotta hear this!

We want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to nominate a nurse – and we have to say another big THANK YOU to the folks at Diamond Valley Federal Credit Union for partnering with us again this year for our tribute to Tri-State nurses.
