Stacey’s Car Ride Home from the Beach Was Like a Scene Out of a National Lampoon Movie
Bobby and I broadcasted the My Morning Show from Panama City Beach, Florida, on Monday and Tuesday. We had the privilege of staying at the Holiday Inn Resort and it was beautiful and the people were amazing!
I have three-year-old triplets and a 6-year-old -- needless to say that the trip down there was rough. We stopped too many times and it took us about four hours longer than it should have.
So on the way back, we had a better plan and we were excited to make better time! Well, we didn't and here is why...
We left Holiday in Resort at 5:30 a.m.
TIME STAMP: 6:49 a.m.
Jillian was screaming that she wanted to "hold me!" She started to ninja her way out of her five-point harness strap and James pulled over so we could have a little talk with her. UGH.
TIME STAMP: 7:26 a.m.
Flat tire.
Hey honey, turn on the van so the kids can watch the movie as you are changing the tire. It was taking a long time.
Our battery was already acting up, but I forgot... So, when we are all ready to continue our trip, the van was dead! UGH.
We had to flag down a passerby to give us a jump. Thanks, Jeremy!
TIME STAMP: 8:34 a.m.
He says, "Go down the road due North about 10 miles and there is a town (Samson) and they have a tire shop on the left." AWESOME!!
Well, here is Samson. All of it. The whole town is in this photo.
TIME STAMP: 8:57 a.m. (Still in Florida)
OMG here is the "Tire Shop." Nope Nope Nope!! I am 90% sure those are all used.
James finds another town 25 miles up the road that has an actual tire store.
TIME STAMP: 9:38 a.m. (Still in Florida)
At 10:30 a.m. we got back on the road and prayed that was all for the Griswold shenanigans.
My kids were pretty good in the car but about an hour before we get home they started losing their minds. Reid was crying because he wants me to hold him, Alex whining because he wanted the iPad on the floor that he dropped for the 100th time. Jillian was screaming because she wanted to make sure I held her first when we got home, not Reid.
TIME STAMP: 7:00 p.m. - 8:00p.m. sounded like this....
We made it and it was an amazing vacation! The drive was terrible but it was worth it!! Our vacation was a blessing and we are so grateful!
