If you or someone you know drives a Mazda vehicle, chances are it falls under a new recall issued over the weekend regarding an issue with the windshield wipers.

According to the Associated Press, the auto maker issued the recall through the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Saturday. The voluntary recall covers "nearly 190,000 Mazda 3 compact cars in the U.S." manufactured between 2016 and 2018.

The recall was issued due to the discovery of metal deposits within the wiper relay that can cause it to stick, therefore causing the wipers to stop working. Obviously that would not be an ideal situation when you're trying to see the road during a solid rain.

So how do you fix it? Mazda says owners will be able to take their vehicle to their local dealership to have the repair done for free beginning June 3rd. What do you do between now and then? Um, keep a towel handy?
