Mel C Says It Could Happen Soon

Melanie Chisholm, better known to fans as Mel C or Sporty Spice, recently shared that the 1997 cult classic should be available to stream in “the not-too-distant future.”

Right now, Spice World isn’t officially available to stream, which has left fans stuck either hunting down an old DVD or just hoping it would eventually show up somewhere. According to Mel C, the reason it’s been unavailable comes down to ownership being a little messy over the years.

She explained that a lot of different people owned the movie, so it ended up being “all over the place.” Now, though, it sounds like there’s finally movement behind the scenes to get it sorted out.

Now I was not around for this, but I know what was released in 1997 at the height of Spice Girls mania, Spice World was peak late-‘90s chaos in the best possible way. The movie follows the group through a wildly exaggerated version of their own lives as they race toward a major live performance.

It’s packed with random celebrity cameos, ridiculous humor, over-the-top outfits, and the kind of energy that only the Spice Girls could pull off. It was never meant to be a serious film, and that’s exactly why so many fans still love it.

Why Fans Are Excited About This

For longtime Spice Girls fans, this would be a pretty big nostalgia win. Spice World has become one of those movies people still quote and revisit whenever they want a little dose of ‘90s pop culture comfort.
