Here’s How to Add Your Child to the Young & Established Free Summer Meal Program
As summer break gets underway, one local organization is stepping up once again to help families facing food insecurity.
Young & Established has announced the return of its free summer meal program for area youth, providing meals throughout the summer months at the Young & Established Community Center on Evansville's east side.
Free Meals Available Beginning June 1
Starting Monday, June 1, children can receive free meals Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon at the Young & Established Community Center located at 1308 Vann Avenue.
The program comes at a critical time for many families. During the school year, thousands of children rely on school breakfast and lunch programs. When summer arrives, those meals often disappear, creating additional challenges for households already struggling to make ends meet.
According to Young & Established, the need remains significant across the Evansville area.

Taking Meals Into the Community
In addition to serving meals at the community center, Young & Established says it will also bring free meals directly into neighborhoods and parks throughout Evansville on select days.
Specific locations will be announced on the organization's social media channels a day or two before each community meal event.
The mobile meal efforts are designed to reach children who may have difficulty getting transportation to the community center.
Hundreds Served Last Summer
Young & Established says it served hundreds of local children through the program last year and expects to help even more families this summer.
The organization encourages anyone who knows a family that could benefit from the program to share the information and help spread the word throughout the community.
Families interested in participating can complete the contact form available through the Young & Established website to have their child added to the program.
