Florida State quarterback and last year's Heisman Trophy winner, Jameis Winston, has been in the news a lot lately, and for all of the wrong reasons. Winston led the Seminoles to a National Championship last season, capping a stellar year for the talented freshman. First, there was the alleged sexual assault incident; charges were later dropped.  Then, there was the crab legs shoplifting episode, and last week, the most embarrassing of all, getting on top of a table in a crowded FSU cafeteria and screaming a highly offensive viral YouTube phrase.

As a result of the cafeteria incident, Winston was initially suspended for the first half of last Saturday's game against Clemson, which was upgraded to the full game. However, when Florida State took the field Saturday, there was Winston, all suited up in full pads as if he expected to play, even though he was suspended for that game.

Head Coach, Jimbo Fisher, was less than pleased to see Winston in pads and warming up with the team. Cameras caught an obviously frustrated Fisher talking with Winston, who then headed off the field and into the locker room, returning in street clothes, and therein lies the problem.

What part of being suspended did he not get? This kid's thought process right now seems very questionable, which baits the question, is there something wrong with him?  Maybe he really doesn't get it and is incapable of understanding. I realize he is young and immature, but am I the only one who thinks there is something much deeper going on with him?

Some of the things he continues to do just seem to go above and beyond immaturity. As a result of his actions, his NFL stock is going down every day to the point I don't think any NFL team would even think about touching this kid....they couldn't afford to. Couple that with the issues facing the NFL right now, and you have a situation where Winston could go undrafted if he comes out after this season.

Winston is going down the wrong road, which could severely hurt his future that seems highly questionable right now. Some say he needs mentoring, while others think he might benefit from counseling.

It is my sincere hope, that football aside, this kid does whatever is necessary to keep his life from spiraling out of control. I want to help Jameis Winston, the person, not Jameis Winston, the football player. Is anyone else concerned? They should be.
