According to the Associated Press, legendary race car driver A.J. Foyt is in stable condition following heart surgery earlier this week.

Foyt underwent triple-bypass surgery at a hospital in Houston. He is expected to stay in the hospital through the weekend and will hopefully come home on Monday.

Foyt is a 4-time Indianapolis 500 winner and an iconic figure in the world of racing. As someone who grew up in Indianapolis, there weren't too many bigger names than A.J. Foyt. Now 79 years old, Foyt has been dealing with some health issues lately, including back surgery and hip and knee replacements. After experiencing some chest pains recently, he decided to head to the doctor where they found blockages in three arteries.

Glad to hear the surgery was a success and hope A.J. has a speedy (see what I did there) recovery..
