Granting Wishes: Brave Souls Rappel Down CenterPoint Energy Building in Downtown Evansville
If you have driven through Downtown Evansville the past couple of days, you might've thought there was a big-time action movie being filmed. There was a ton of action, and some cameras, but the big stars have been the Granted Wish Kids.
Third Annual Over the Edge 4 GRANTED Event
Two years ago I had the opportunity to rappel down the 9-story CenterPoint Energy building in Downtown Evansville. This sounds like a pretty adventurous or crazy thing to do, and yes it is both of those things. So why in the world would I do that, and why would over 160 people be ready to do it this year? To help GRANTED grant wishes of local children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. And to help GRANTED with programming that goes beyond the wish.
Wish Child Braxton - The Superhero of Over the Edge 4 GRANTED 2024
I have known Braxton for probably 7 years or so. He was little Braxton to me, and he still is, even though I'm pretty sure that he is as tall as I am! He made it his goal to be super brave this year and rappel. As you can see, Braxton faced his fears (And so did his mom) and he rappeled like a champ!
Support After The Wish
Something that makes Granted very unique is the support the family receives long after their wish is granted. The staff and volunteers at Granted stay in contact with the family, and they hold special events and groups for the parents. The bond they build is real, but none of this is possible without donations and fundraising.

Goal Set - Goal Exceeded
So the original fundraising goal was $225,000, and because of the 150+ rappelers, and online donations, that goal has been hit! You can still donate HERE.
