For the past several years, Stephanie Terry has been the Executive Director of the Koch Family Children's Museum of Evansville (cMoe). She took a new job that will keep her pretty busy for at least the next four years (she's the new Mayor of Evansville), so the museum had to find a replacement, and now we know who that is.

Before coming to cMoe, Erica worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern Indiana and Ivy Tech Community College in Evansville. There she taught a variety of courses in Communication & Media. Schmidt has spent more than two decades working in community relations, including resource development, strategic planning, hospitality management, customer relations, communications, and marketing. Here's what Erica said following the big announcement...

What an exciting time to serve our community by having the opportunity to lead Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) into its next chapter. I’m looking forward to celebrating many MILLIE MOE-ments with our community throughout the region.

What Is the Next Chapter for cMoe?

One of the chapters Erica was referring to Play It Forward, a capital campaign with a goal of raising $6.5 million dollars to build a new mobile museum and outdoor exhibit on the rooftop. The museum will also use these funds for some much-needed refreshing and redesigning of the water play area, theater, and other exhibits. Play It Forward is the largest, most significant fundraising effort in the museum’s history.

The Most Unique Museums in Indiana

Indiana is home to a whole bunch of museums, several of which house some pretty unique, unusual, and unreal items. Here is a list of 14 such museums from all around the Hoosier state. I decided to list them in alphabetical order. Enjoy!

The City of Evansville played an extremely important role in WWII. Evansville's Wartime Museum is a great place to learn the stories behind the history of the war.
