Starbucks on Evansville’s North Side Closes – Customers Want Answers
If your daily routine includes a stop at the Starbucks on North First Avenue in Evansville, you will need to make different arrangements for your caffeine.
Why is Starbucks in Evansville Closed?
Starbucks announced back in February that they plan on designing their shops to be more inclusive. The company says that newly built stores like the one in Washington, D.C. will have the new design model.
Many regular Evansville Starbucks customers were surprised to see that the North First Avenue location closed. This is likely part of the new more inclusive movement that Starbucks is working toward.
I have reached out to Starbucks corporate to confirm the changes and a timeline.
Inclusive Spaces in Starbucks
If you have ever attempted to do a little work at Starbucks, but you found it to be too noisy, you are not alone. The lighting can also be an issue for those with sensory issues. The new design will address that with better acoustics and softer lighting. The counter will have a new design that will enable wheelchair access, and room for service dogs, too.
The new design keeps those with a disability in mind. With new features like power-operated doors, wider areas for wheelchairs, and there will be customer order status boards that will assist those with hearing issues to know when their order is ready.
