You can go ahead and add this to your list of things you didn't realize at the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library (EVPL). I have written before about 10 Things the EVPL Offers Besides Books, but you won't find this information there. The EVPL announced a partnership with the University of Southern Indiana (USI) and the Deaconess Clinic that will allow individuals to use various EVPL branches for telehealth appointments. Access to the space and the necessary equipment is free of charge. EVPL CEO-Director Scott Kinney had this to say...

We are proud to partner with USI and Deaconess Clinic on this evolution of library services. By expanding our services to provide spaces for telehealth, the library is fulfilling our purpose of removing the barrier to access.

See below for information about where and when the telehealth spaces will be available.

  • EVPL Central on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:15am-11:15am
  • EVPL North Park on Thursdays from 9:15am-11:15am and 12n-2pm
  • EVPL Oaklyn on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:15am-11:15am
  • EVPL Red Bank on Tuesdays from 9:15am-11:15am and 12n-2pm

How Does It Work?

It will be up to the individual to make a telehealth appointment with a healthcare provider. Once an appointment has been made, you can contact the EVPL to reserve a space for the call. The staff at that branch will help set up any equipment you might need for the appointment, including a laptop, headphones, and speakers.
