Deb’s Vacation in Miami
My pre-Springbreak getaway to Miami this past week was amazing and very special. I got to visit my son, Eric and daughter-in-law, Hayley, walked along the white sandy beaches, saw some huge manatees, weird looking lizards, and more!
The average temp in Miami was about 78. Along with my husband, Mike, we loved going to the beach several times. The ocean water was still too chilly to get in, but, the walk along the coastline on the white sandy beaches was definitely amazing. I'm such a romantic.
Palm trees, coconuts, and lizards - normal stuff around Miami!
We discovered lots and lots of manatees swimming nearby in the channel near Eric's place. I have a cool video that I will post later.
Mike and I visited the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens which is a popular historic estate on the shores of Biscayne Bay and was owned by businessman James Deering of the Deering-McCormick-International Harvester fortune. It was a beautiful mansion featuring Italian Renaissance-style decor. The surrounding gardens were gorgeous, too.
One thing Mike and I weren't too crazy about...the traffic in Miami! There were crazy drivers everywhere! And there were constant traffic accidents and congestion. Eric said that was just common stuff in Miami. Won't miss that part of Miami! lol. But, I will and I already am missing my boy, Eric and Hayley, too. #lifeinMiami #beautifulbeaches #Miami
