Being New to Evansville, What are Your Hometown Favorites?
You can help me out, too! You can share with me all the iconic spots, food go-tos, and events you can’t miss here in Evansville since I am new to the area. I moved here in July from Missouri. I was a News Reporter in Missouri and came to Evansville to do the same, where I was on Channel 44 News. As being on TV was an adventure, it’s always been the radio for me.

Where I came from
I am originally from a tiny town in Southern Illinois called Red Bud. I had no doubts that I wanted to study broadcasting and journalism in college. I packed up my things and left my tiny hometown for the suburbs of Chicago. I went to North Central College on an academic and athletic scholarship. It was always a dream of mine to take my softball skills as far as I could, until I found a new dream. After my freshman year, when Covid hit, I decided to hang up my cleats for good and join the radio station.
Where it all started
When I joined WONC, I instantly fell in love. WONC was an all-rock station from The Beach Boys to current music from Panic at the Disco, which was up my alley. For nearly 4 years, I was a radio host, hosting a Vintage Show and going by the name Classic Cal. Having classic rock be my main go-to for tunes and hosting a classic rock show at night, it only seemed fitting.
My music taste explained
I am a Dead Head at heart and will do whatever I can to chase down remaining rock bands to see live, like Rush. Being the only child, Mom and Dad taught me all about hair bands to soft rock, and it only went up from there. Growing up on all things 70s, 80s, and 90s, I came to love music from different eras. I might also add that I appreciate the iconic 80s movies like Caddyshack and Star Wars. However, growing up in the early 2000s is cool because I can still grow a love for people like the Black Eyed Peas and Rhianna.

Where you can find me off the air
When I am not on the air, I am out hiking, going to concerts, finding record stores, trying new coffee shops, or doing grandma activities like crocheting on the couch, watching Gunsmoke with my two cats. One main thing about me is that I love meeting new people and making new friends. Join with me on my new journey that pursues my dream job, and let's make our mornings MAGIC!
