5 Evansville Places To Take Your Out-Of-Town Relatives During The Holidays
The holidays are here, and with the holidays comes family members. Many of us have family coming in from out of town to visit. If you've got family coming in town and you'll need some ideas to entertain them during the down times between family gatherings (or just delicious places to eat), here's 5 places you'll definitely want to take them in Evansville.
1) High Score Saloon
High Score Saloon is located on the Main Street walkway in downtown Evansville, which bonus, is all lit up for Christmas! High Score Saloon is an arcade loaded with all of your favorite classic arcade and pinballs, and a bar. You can drink your favorite adult beverage while playing your favorite classic games. It really is a fun place to go for an evening out. Please note, this is a 21+ establishment.
2) Plaid & Timber
Two words: Axe. Throwing. Axe throwing has officially come to Evansville! Take out some of that holiday aggression or just have a fun night out with your relatives while throwing axes. Kat recently went and said it was a blast, read more about it, here.
3) Children's Museum of Evansville
If your family brings kiddos in town, they can go stir crazy being cooped up in a house all day. CMOE has a ton of room for them to run out their energy while learning at the same time. Plus it's indoors which is nice when it's chilly outside. Also the Evansville Museum has lots to check out too, it's also located downtown. If you happen to luck out and there's favorable weather, I also suggest the the USS LST Memorial. All three are located downtown.
4) Tropicana
Of course the casino is a fun place to take your relatives while in town for the holidays. Tropicana recently got a huge upgrade, and is definitely a fun to check out.
5) Breweries
This is less of a place and more of a category. Evansville's got several great breweries in town, and I know my family and I always enjoy stopping in a brewery. There's Carson's, Myriad Brewing, Haynies Corner Brewing Co, and Damsels (formerly Maidens). You really can't go wrong with any of these places to grab a cold beer and catch up with relatives.
