Wild Summer Lights Returns to Evansville

One of the most magical events of 2025 is making its glowing return this year! Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden has officially announced that Wild Summer Lights, presented by Liberty Federal Credit Union, is coming back – starting July 30 and running through October 4!

What to Expect at This Year’s Event

Each night, once the zoo closes, it transforms into a glowing wonderland featuring more than a mile of stunning Chinese lantern displays. Created in partnership with Tianyu Arts & Culture, Inc., these larger-than-life displays blend art, culture, and nature into a truly unforgettable nighttime experience. It’s like stepping into another world, without leaving Evansville. In addition to the lanterns,  guests can enjoy live performances from local musicians, plus a rotating lineup of food trucks.

2026 Wild Summer Lights Dates and Hours

The event runs Thursday through Sunday with extended evening hours, giving you plenty of chances to check it out:

  • July & August: 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • September through October 4: 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

A separate ticket is required for Wild Summer Lights, and we're giving you a chance to win some all this week!

The game is simple - we will play a clip of a song that has an animal in the title, and all you have to do is name the song.
