Granny's Gifts For Heroes is a local nonprofit dedicated to helping support those who serve by sending deployed soldiers gifts from home in the form of care packages. They recently had a group of 100 soldiers stationed in Iraq reach out with a few simple requests of items they're needing. They are requesting zip lock bags full of candy, gum, chapstick, and hygiene products.  They also said they'd love to have included a bible verse or prayer for them in the care packages.

Granny's Gifts for Heroes also likes to include artwork from children to send to soldiers, they say it's often times one of their favorite items to receive in a care package. So if you have children who want to help, here's a cool way to get them involved with giving back as well.

Here's what Granny's Gifts for Heroes says about this specific request on Facebook:

We have a request from a group of 100 soldiers. They are requesting zip lock bags full of candy, gum, chapstick, hygiene products and a prayer or Bible verse. They are in Iraq so please do not buy anything that will melt. We will have food and hygiene products bagged separately. Anyone wanting to help this group and put baggies of goodies together, you can drop them off at 1108 Lincoln Ave Specialty Pet Grooming, Doggie Daycare, and Boarding.

We are still accepting baby wipes as well as art work from children. We haven’t received any artwork or letters in several months. That is their favorite thing in the whole box. Can someone/group please help us?

If you can help donate please drop the items off at 1108 Lincoln Ave, Specialty Pet Grooming, Doggie Daycare, and Boarding.
