For crying out loud, have a little compassion for your co-workers. You know as well as I do that no one is safe from the funk that wafts through the office as soon as you reheat that fish, tuna, or salmon.

Your boss and your coworkers are not your parents and they should not have to tell you to clean up after yourself.

I can't believe this is still a thing. I'll never understand how someone opens the office fridge, sees food they know isn't theirs, and eats it anyway. It doesn't matter if the food is labeled or not. Did you bring it? No? Then it's not yours. Don't eat it!

You should approach the topics of religion and politics with caution. People are passionate about them and those kinds of discussions can get heated very quickly.

We used to have a sign in our kitchen that read "If you kill the joe, make some mo!" I will add more one coffee-related rule. Make sure you turn off the burner if the pot is empty or nearly empty. Burnt coffee is no bueno, and a shattered pot is even less bueno.

There is a fine line between perfectly prepared popcorn which smells delicious, and overcooked (burnt) popcorn which produces a unique, memorable, and offensive odor. Why risk it just to potentially pop a few more kernels? It's not worth it my friend.

As I've gotten older, I have come to realize how important and valuable a good pen is. It sounds ridiculous, I know, but when you find the right kind of pen, you want to guard it with your life.

I just don't see any upside to discussing your salary/pay with coworkers.

It's not 2020, people - we're not just now learning how to work Zoom, Teams, or another virtual meeting service. At this point we should all know what we're doing - and the first thing we should do when a meeting starts is MUTE our doggone microphones.

It's the ol' Golden (unspoken) Rule. It is so simple and easy, but it still doesn't happen enough. Treat your coworkers (and everybody else, really) how you want to be treated.
