This is what's happening today, Monday January 14th, 2019

Quiet start to the week, then rain returns Thursday, followed by a bigger system Saturday, that will produce more rain & possibly some snow. High today 36.

Evansville Police investigated a shooting last night at the VFW on the West Side. Hundreds of people were inside for bingo night. 1 person has non-life threatening injuries, and the suspect is in custody. Officers sat that the two knew each other, and have had a long standing dispute.

More than 32,000 Los Angeles teachers and staff members will walk off the job today, in the country's second-biggest school district. That means about 600,000 kids will have no idea when they'll see their teachers again. They want smaller class sizes, bigger teacher salaries, and more counselors and nurses in the district.

On Saturday, kids in the Deaconess Gateway Hospital Pediatric ICU had some special guests visit them! NFL legend Bob Griese, as well as Jerad Eickhoff, Rick Ankiel, and St. Louis Cardinals mascot, Fred Bird handed out autographed baseballs and photos, took pictures, and interacted with the kids on the floor.

Congrats to the Bosse Bulldogs boys basketball team and the Castle Lady Knights girls basketball team...they both won the SIAC basketball tournament over the weekend.
