Sunrise Cafe’s New Evansville Location Opens Next Week—Here’s What to Expect
Sunrise Cafe’s New East Side Location Could Open in Just Days
If you love breakfast in Evansville, there’s a big update on one popular local spot. Sunrise Cafe’s new East Side location is expected to open in early April, with a projected grand opening date of April 7 or 8.
The restaurant has been hard at work transforming the former Mike Libs Chocolate Factory building in the Lawndale Commons shopping center, and it looks like the finish line is finally in sight.
Moving to a Bigger, More Convenient Space
The new restaurant at 864 S. Green River Road will replace the current Sunrise Cafe 2 East Side location on North Green River Road.
The good news for longtime fans is this move should make visiting even easier. The new space offers much more parking and better access to Green River Road, which should make those busy breakfast and brunch runs a whole lot smoother.
Renovations are mostly complete, and crews are currently moving kitchen equipment into the building. The final step is passing inspections and getting the certificate of occupancy, but if everything stays on track, the doors should open by the second week of April.
Current East Side Spot Will Close After the Move
Once the new Lawndale location opens, the current East Side restaurant at 2121 N. Green River Road will officially close.
However, Sunrise Cafe’s North Side location on North Kentucky Avenue will remain open and won’t be affected by the move.
Why This Is Great News for Evansville Breakfast Fans
For local breakfast lovers, this is exciting news. A larger space, easier parking, and a fresh new location should make Sunrise Cafe even more of a go-to spot for pancakes, eggs, and weekend brunch meetups.
If all goes as planned, Evansville’s East Side could have a brand-new breakfast destination ready to welcome customers in just a matter of days.
