Moving

There's an interesting trend over the past few years of many in Illinois choosing to move west.

No state has gained a reputation for having residents leave more than Illinois has for the past few years. Now, it appears we know where all of the fleeing Illinoisans are going.

For what it's worth, I'm not on board with all of the stay away from Illinois at all costs lists that occasionally get passed around the internet. However, I'm not an expert mover and there are several moving companies that seem to be in agreement that you might want to avoid moving to the Land of Lincoln.

Should you move to Illinois? Don't even think about it and I'll give you 10 great reasons why the thought should never enter your mind.

I will admit that I'm in the minority on this one, but I find it encouraging that so many California residents are choosing to leave the state and move to Illinois. New data shows the numbers fleeing Cali for the Land of Lincoln are massive.

There are a lot of reasons why a state would grow over time. Better jobs, people seeking a more comfortable climate and housing costs. For some reason, fewer people looking for those things are choosing Illinois as it is now officially ranked as one of the slowest growing states in America.
