I Finally Tried Azzip’s Famous “March Crabness” Pizza and Now I Get the Hype

We’ve been talking about it for 31 days now—and honestly, probably even longer than that.

One thing that was totally new to me after moving to Indiana was trying Azzip Pizza. I had experienced build-your-own pizza places before, like MOD Pizza when I was in school in Naperville, but Azzip was a brand-new experience for me. What was also new? The idea of monthly specialty pizzas.

I’ve built my own pizza at Azzip plenty of times, and I’ve also worked my way through some of their signature creations. But somehow, I had never tried one of their monthly specials—until now.

The Pizza Everyone Told Me I Had to Try

Bobby wasted no time asking me one simple question: “Do you like crab rangoons?”

My answer? Who doesn’t?

That’s when he started telling me all about Azzip’s iconic “March Crabness” pizza, a fan-favorite that gets a ton of love every March. Since it was the very last day of the month, it felt like now or never.

So we made the trip and grabbed one.

It Tastes Like a Crab Rangoon on Steroids

The best way I can describe it is this: it tastes like a crab rangoon on steroids but in the best possible way.

It had all those rich, creamy, savory flavors you love in the appetizer, just transformed into pizza form. I was honestly impressed by how much I liked it.

That said, it is definitely rich, so the smallest size—just a little zip and it was more than enough for me.

And while I’ll admit I didn’t quite finish the whole thing, I only left one piece behind, so I’m counting that as a win.

Bobby Says It’s Always a Must-Have

For Bobby, this pizza is always a staple every March. Even he admitted he hadn’t had it in a few years, so it ended up being a nice refresher for his taste buds too.

By the end of it, one thing was clear: I totally understand why this pizza has such a loyal following.

I’m Already Looking Ahead

Now I’m officially curious about what other monthly specials Azzip Pizza rolls out throughout the rest of the year.

Needless to say, I’ll definitely be back to try more and yes, I’ll absolutely be back next March for another round of March Crabness.
