Passengers No Longer Have to Remove Shoes at This Kentucky Airport
It appears that one of the things that always trips us up when going through the TSA is going away.
Why Do We Have to Take Our Shoes Off?
For about the past twenty years, if you want to get on an airplane, one of the procedures required by the Transportation Security Administration is to remove your shoes. Why? Well, the "Shoe Bomber" refers to Richard Reid, who attempted to blow up an American Airlines flight in December 2001 by igniting explosives hidden in his shoes. This led to increased airline security, particularly the requirement for passengers to remove their shoes during security screening in U.S. airports. If you happen to have TSA PreCheck, you don't have to remove your shoes.

Is The TSA Ending Shoe Removal?
According to multiple sources, including CBS News, the T.S.A. is doing away with shoe removal during the security checks. It appears this new procedure is in the process of being tested at certain airports.
