“Ziggy” Siegfried Named UE Vice President for Athletics

A New Leadership Role for UE Athletics

The University of Evansville is recognizing the leadership of Dr. Kenneth "Ziggy" Siegfried with a promotion that reflects the growing role athletics plays across the entire campus.

UE President Christopher M. Pietruszkiewicz announced that Siegfried has been promoted to Vice President for Athletics, a move that acknowledges not only the success of Purple Aces Athletics but also his impact as one of the University's senior leaders.

Why Ziggy Siegfried Earned the Promotion

Siegfried joined the University of Evansville in 2022 and has served as a member of the President's Cabinet, working alongside leaders from enrollment, finance, academic affairs, student affairs, marketing, communications, advancement, and administration. In his expanded role, he'll continue overseeing the University's NCAA Division I athletics program while helping shape the University's long-term vision and strategic priorities.

UE Athletics Growth Under Siegfried

Since taking over the athletics department, Siegfried has overseen a period of impressive growth. Through the Athletics Pathway to Excellence strategic plan, the department has reached record levels of fundraising and ticket sales while also securing the largest apparel partnership in school history with Nike.

The investment hasn't stopped there. More than $8 million in athletics facility improvements have either been completed or launched, giving Purple Aces student-athletes access to upgraded resources and training facilities. Those projects include the Begle Family Sports Performance Center, a new turf softball field, a soccer practice turf field, and other improvements across campus.

As Vice President for Athletics, Siegfried will continue leading Purple Aces Athletics while serving on the University's senior leadership team, helping guide initiatives that benefit both the University of Evansville and the broader Evansville community.
