Southern Rock Made a Quick Stop at EVV

Have you ever just been minding your own business, going about another normal day, and suddenly thought, “Wait... do I know that person from somewhere?”

I do it all the time, and you might've been doing the exact same thing if you happened to be at Evansville Regional Airport recently. Because a little Southern rock made its way through EVV!

Members of the legendary rock band Molly Hatchet recently flew through Evansville Regional Airport while making their way to the Popcorn Days festival in Ridgway, Illinois.

Molly Hatchet Lands in Evansville

If the name Molly Hatchet sounds familiar, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve heard their biggest hit, “Flirtin’ with Disaster.” The Southern rock classic was released in 1979 and remains one of the band’s most recognizable songs more than four decades later.

The band has been part of the Southern rock scene for decades, so seeing them casually passing through our little corner of the Tri-State is pretty cool.

While making their way through EVV, the band had quite a bit of luggage with them — and when you're traveling as a rock band, that means more than just a couple of suitcases. They had their bags and instruments along for the trip.

According to Evansville Regional Airport, Public Safety Captain Littlepage stepped in to help the group with a luggage cart before they continued their journey to Illinois.

Of course, they couldn't leave without snapping a quick photo together.

You Never Know Who You'll See in Evansville

Consider this your reminder to keep your eyes peeled when you're out and about.

You might just be running errands, grabbing a coffee or literally trying to get to your next destination, but you never know who you might run into around Evansville.

Apparently, that includes a legendary Southern rock band casually rolling through the airport with their instruments in tow.

Not something you see every day at EVV.

Rock on!
