Pink Floyd Doesn’t Tour Anymore, But This Band Is the Next Best Thing

You know by now that I am from the St. Louis area. You also might have figured out by now that I am a huge rocker. And this is my miniature announcement that I am now the host for Middays on 103 GBF!
I love rock and roll from all eras and genres, and one of my favorite bands is Pink Floyd. It’s such a bummer that they don’t tour together anymore. Pink Floyd’s last full tour was all the way back in 1994, so my hopes of ever seeing the actual band together are pretty slim.
However, in St. Louis, we have the next best thing.

Meet El Monstero
There is this Pink Floyd tribute band called El Monstero, and I’m usually not all that into tribute bands because I would rather see the real thing. Who wouldn’t?
But I have to give credit to El Monstero because they are absolutely phenomenal.
El Monstero has been bringing Pink Floyd’s music to life since 1999, when the whole thing started as a cover show put together by members of the St. Louis band Stir. What started with a crowd of around 900 people has turned into a huge St. Louis tradition.
And when I say they put on a SHOW, I mean it.

Their performances aren’t just about playing Pink Floyd songs. They use massive theatrical props, pyrotechnics, aerial performers, interactive technology and even fireworks to recreate that larger-than-life Pink Floyd experience. Their shows focus heavily on the David Gilmour/Roger Waters era, while also dipping into music from other parts of Pink Floyd’s history.
The costumes, the way they sound, the production and the way they mimic the actual band it is seriously impressive.
It's Become a Tradition for Me
I’ve seen El Monstero every year, and I make it a thing to go with my friend Kaylene.

Their big St. Louis shows are typically at The Pageant during the holiday season, which gives you a more intimate experience, and then they usually do a big outdoor summer show at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.
This summer, I got to see them there with Night Ranger, which was pretty cool. The show happened July 18, 2026, at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.

Night Ranger was pretty good, but the best band I’ve seen play with El Monstero has to be Yes—or more specifically, Jon Anderson of Yes, who performed with them at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in 2024. That one was hard to beat.
Put This On Your St. Louis Bucket List
As of right now, El Monstero hasn’t announced another upcoming show, so I would definitely keep an eye out. Their holiday shows at The Pageant have become a St. Louis tradition, and they’ve also made those big summer shows at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre a regular thing.

So, if you are even slightly a Pink Floyd fan, I really recommend seeing these guys at least once.
You can check out El Monstero's official website to keep up with future shows.
And if you’re thinking about planning a trip to St. Louis next summer, you might want to plan it around one of their shows.
I promise, it’s worth it.
