Indiana to Welcome Unique Dining Experience: Chicken and Pickleball Chef-Driven Restaurant
I realize that even mentioning the word pickleball could be a trigger for some folks. But what if I said wood-fired rotisserie chicken, followed by pickleball?
What is the Big Dill with Chicken N Pickle?
Chicken N Pickle is a concept that began back in 2016. It was founded in Kansas City and has grown slowly with seven locations now open. Several more will open in the next year, and that includes one in Indiana.
Offering an Unconventional Combination of Chicken and Pickleball
Pickleball is a sport that has been gaining popularity in the Evansville area. People of all ages and skill levels can attempt pickleball, and it can be played both indoors and outdoors. While our ideal location for more pickleball courts remains up for debate, Fishers, Indiana will soon have both indoor and outdoor courts and a chef-driven restaurant.
Our mission is to provide an atmosphere that fosters fun, friendship, and community and we are excited to bring that to Fishers,” said Dave Johnson, Founder of Chicken N Pickle. “We believe that bringing people together over a delicious, wood-fired rotisserie chicken, a cold beverage and some friendly competition can create unifying bonds that ripple throughout the community and beyond.
Chicken N Pickle will join the Fishers District, located east of I-69 between 106th and 116th Streets. It is scheduled to open in 2024 and will employ around 150 people.
Get Your Game On - How to Play Pickleball
Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It is played on a court with a net that is lower than a tennis net and is typically played in doubles, although singles play is also possible.
The game is played with a paddle and a perforated plastic ball that is similar in appearance to a wiffle ball. The objective of the game is to hit the ball over the net and into the opponent's court, with the goal of making it difficult for the opponent to return the ball.
