City of Henderson KY to Make Change to Trash Collection Beginning in July
The City of Henderson, Kentucky is making a change to its trash pick-up service for residents that live within the city limits.
New Protocol for Henderson, KY Trash Pick-Up
Currently, residents of Henderson use their own trash bins or cans to set their garbage out at the curb for their weekly trash pick-up, but soon they won't be allowed to use their own containers anymore. The City of Henderson is rolling out a new protocol.
Can You Still Use Your Own Trash Cans?
The new rules will mean that residents won't be able to set out their personal trash cans at the curb for pick-up. The city is implementing a new system similar to what residents in Evansville have - large trash bins that will belong to the sanitation service that collects the trash.
How Many Trash Cans Do You Get?
According to a post on Facebook by the City of Henderson, new wheeled trash bins, or as I call them - toters, will be delivered to residents beginning the week of July 10th. Each home will receive one 96-gallon toter and all trash must be placed in these city-issued toters in order to be collected.
...residents will be required to place all trash they want collected in City issued bins with the lid closed.
There will be no additional charge for the initial trash bin. For residents that may need an additional trash bin, the city of Henderson says that an additional 96-gallon bin can be rented for an additional $5 charge per month with a 6-month minimum.
Why The Change?
The City of Henderson says that the new trash receptacles will allow their employees to have enhanced working conditions.
The City of Henderson's sanitation team is implementing the new cans to create a better and safer working environment for their employees.
Have Questions or Concerns?
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the new trash bin initiative being implemented, you are encouraged to contact the City of Henderson's Sanitation Department by calling (270) 854-2064.
