Video Games Are Skyrocketing in Popularity

Video games have been popular since the moment they first came out decades ago.   However in recent years thanks to online streaming, we've really seen games explode in popularity.  There are people now who have built entire careers off of playing their favorite video games. In fact, in 2022 the global game market is projected to generate $196 billion in revenue.

I don't know much about video games, but I do know that my husband and I have a Nintendo Switch that I love to play.  Not to flex or anything, but I did beat Super Mario Odyssey and have quite the impressive island on Animal Crossing.

The Evansville Museum of Arts, History, and Science is home to the Koch Immersive Theater, and you can actually rent out the theater to host you're own gaming party.  Here is what the Evansville Museum says about renting the theater:

Did you know the Museum is the area’s premier gaming location for groups up to eight people? Our Koch Immersive Theater provides a “bring your own” gaming opportunity in a space that is normally used for planetarium shows and giant screen movies. A rental of our facility allows you to play all your favorite video games, viewable in a ginormous, 19-foot wide, viewing area. Not only are your games brilliantly projected on our dome, but they are also jacked into our amazing 10,000-watt sound system. If it can plug into a standard HDMI connector, and it works in your home or dorm room, your system will work in our dome!

Private gaming party rentals will be scheduled around our schedule of public shows and Museum Members enjoy substantial savings as a perk. Rentals start at $30/hour.
Interested? Give Mitch Luman, Director of Science Experiences a call at 812-425-2406, extension 227 or shoot him an email at
