After four straight weeks of dominating performances, the Gibson Southern Titans take over the top spot in Class 3A according to the Associated Press.

The Titans have been ranked in the top 10 since the start of the season, but until this week couldn't get any higher than second until this week when they received 10 first place votes to have them sitting pretty atop the standings.

The Reitz Panthers and the Mater Dei Wildcats have been at the top of their respective classes in the weekly Associated Press rankings since before the season even began, and with the Panthers win over the previously unbeaten Central Bears Friday night, and Mater Dei's 63-point outing against Memorial, keeping both programs in first place was a pretty easy decision.

Other local programs of note finding their way into the rankings includes Castle at number 15 in Class 5A, and the Jasper Wildcats falling from third to sixth in Class 4A after losing their first game of the season to Heritage Hills last Friday. However, the win by the Patriots only had a small effect on their positioning in 3A as they move up from ninth to eighth.
