Did you know that the EVPL McCollough building is 58 years old? The library has only had renovations twice since 1965. Part of the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library's master plan includes some exciting upgrades to McCollough Library.

Closing for Renovations

Since this will be an extensive project, EVPL McCollough will be closed beginning Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Residents that utilize this location will be happy to know that a temporary library will be set up inside of Washington Square Mall. There will be more details about that location released soon.

When will EVPL McCollough reopen?

The $4 million dollar project is expected to take less than a year. Library officials hope to have the original location reopened by mid-2024. Library users will not be able to place holds to be picked up at EVPL McCollough beginning Monday, July 24. Holds that come in for EVPL McCollough between Monday, July 31, and Friday, August 18, will be moved to a pickup location of EVPL Central.
