Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry is gearing up for the city's second Block-by-Block neighborhood cleanup initiative, and you're invited to be part of the action! On Friday, October 18, from 9am-11am, the Bellemeade Bayard Park Neighborhood will be buzzing with energy as volunteers and city employees come together to make a difference.

The Block-by-Block initiative kicked off in the Jacobsville area back on August 12th during the city's 812 Day celebration. It’s all part of Mayor Terry’s larger vision for neighborhood revitalization. At the last event, a dedicated crew of 90 volunteers and city employees took to the streets to make a lasting impact - demolishing a dilapidated home, sprucing up lawns across four blocks, hauling away heavy trash, and trimming trees to restore the beauty of the neighborhood.

Mayor Terry is eager to keep the momentum going. “Our goal is not just to beautify our neighborhoods, but to build stronger connections within our community,” she shared. By working closely with departments like the Building Commission and the Evansville Police Department, the city is identifying neighborhoods that need the most help - and then jumping into action.

The exact location for the upcoming cleanup will be announced soon, but three key volunteer groups are already being formed: Track Pick-Up, Lawn Care, and Community Outreach. If you’re interested in rolling up your sleeves and joining in, contact Ariah Leary, the Community Affairs & Special Projects Director, at aleary@evansville.in.gov.

This is your chance to help revitalize our city, one block at a time!
