As COVID-19 continues to spread, we've learned of a case that is pretty close to home. I used to live in Jeffersonville, IN and I have a lot of friends in the New Albany area. Last night, I read that the first confirmed case of COVID-19 is a resident of Floyd County. Now my friends in that area are going back through their personal timelines to see if they were in the same location as this patient was. It's very possible that you or someone you know visited that area for a sporting event or maybe a little gambling at the casino. If that is the case, and you have any symptoms, you need to contact your doctor immediately.

The Floyd County Health Department has confirmed that a resident of Floyd County has tested positive for Covid-19. This individual is now being treated at Baptist Health Floyd. Within the last week the patient was identified to have attended the following events:
(The patient is not a student and is an adult individual.)

Northside Christian Church, 3/4/2020, 11:30 service
IHSAA Boys Basketball Sectionals at Seymour High School on 3/7/2020
Color Guard Competition at Floyd Central High School on 3/7/2020
High School wrestling match at Floyd Central High School on 3/1/2020
Attended Caesar’s Casino of Southern Indiana on the following dates:
2/25/2020 thru 2/29/2020 and again from 3/3/2020 thru 3/7/2020 8a-4p on all days listed.

If you were present at these facilities and have developed fever, cough, weakness, and diarrhea, please self-quarantine and contact your primary care provider for additional guidance.
