I’ve Entered My Indiana Food Discovery Era

I need your help — seriously. Because apparently, moving to Indiana has unlocked a whole new world of food that I somehow missed my entire life.

As you know, I just tried Azzip Pizza for the first time, and I didn’t even know it was a thing until I moved here. To be fair, I grew up in a town where our dining options were… limited. We had McDonald’s, Casey’s, and Dairy Queen — and honestly, Dairy Queen felt like a luxury.

From Small-Town Menus to Big-City Choices

When I went to college in Naperville, Illinois, it felt like I was moving to a completely different world. They had *everything*. Not just your classic fast-food staples like Chick-fil-A, Raising Cane’s, Taco Bell, and McDonald’s, but also places I had never even heard of.

Bumper to Burger. Guzman y Gomez. Hidden gems that were technically fast food because they had drive-thrus — but the food was better, a little pricier, and way more exciting than your average burger and fries. And don’t get me wrong, McDonald’s still hits on the right day.

Missouri Didn’t Exactly Rock My Food World

After that, I moved to Missouri, and honestly, there weren’t many new places that surprised me. The only fast-food spot I tried for the first time was Taco John’s. It was fine — not bad, not amazing, just… fine.

Indiana Has Me Curious (And Hungry)

Now that I’m in Indiana, I feel like I’m back in discovery mode. Between finally trying Azzip Pizza and going to Chicken Salad Chick for the first time last week — which I absolutely loved — I know there are so many local favorites I’m missing out on.

Help Me Out, Evansville

So this is where you come in. What are the must-try Indiana spots? Even better, what are the Evansville specials I HAVE to check out? I’ve already got my eye on Wayback Burgers, and I am very eager to give that a try.

Help a girl out — where should I eat next?
