Saturday started out overcast and kind of cool, by the afternoon the sun was out, and the temperature on the roof of the CenterPoint Energy building was around 100 degrees. Okay, that's a little dramatic, but it was hot. By around 4:00 PM it was a race against the weather to get the final rappelers down the ropes, and onto the ground. You can see the clouds rolling in, but everyone was able to rappel.

Granted Wish Children Rappel Virtually

The Over The Edge crew brought in an extra A-frame tripod so that Granted Wish Children could experience the 9-story rappel. On Friday, this cool dude with Hannah did a 360 video of the entire experience. The children could see it in virtual reality in a practice set-up in full gear.

Little Braxton was my inspiration to go Over The Edge. I could hear him cheering me on, and he greeted me on the ground with a pretty sweet medal. Please note Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin and Assistant Chief Phil Smith (Pictured behind us) Kept their feet on the ground, and in Crocs no less!

New Friends = More Inspiration

On Friday night Granted hosted a reception for the VIP repellers, top teams, and Granted Wish Children. Alissa introduced herself to me. She was one of the wish children you heard on the radio talking about why she wanted to go Over The Edge. She said it was because of all the times she has been told that she could not do something. She wanted to take control of her situation, and do the thing!

I'm super proud of Alissa because this was a pretty stressful thing to do. And she did let me know that there were spiders on the building, which makes sense, right?!

Superheroes, Rock Stars, Mr. Cow, and More Rappel For Granted

The challenge to rappel over and down a 9-story building is one that over 100 people said YES to. Why? It's all for the Granted Wish Children. Here are a few pics from the First-ever Over The Edge 4 Granted Fundraiser in Downtown Evansville, Indiana.
