Evansville, Indiana Bakery Connecting The Community With Local Police Through Cupcakes
The Evansville Police Department has a monthly program called Coffee with a Cop. On the third Tuesday of the month, officers gather at a local coffee shop (Usually Donut Bank or Penny Lane). It's an opportunity for citizens of Evansville to meet the officers that serve and protect them. There are always a lot of stories to be shared, and questions answered.
It's Important For Kids To Meet Police Officers
I think that it's great to see our local police department so involved in our community. When you meet them in a friendly environment like a coffee shop or bakery, it is quite different than when you need their help. It can be scary for children who have never met a police officer, to see them arresting someone. It is important that kids and adults feel comfortable and safe around police officers, and not too scared to ask for help.

Cakes and The Community
GaylaCake is a big supporter of The Promise Zone Youth, which works to improve the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our youth and families, and Cops Connecting With Kids. Now, we have another opportunity to meet our Evansville Police Officers at GaylaCake.
With Coffee With A Cop being so successful, GaylaCake offered to host us for Cupcake With A Cop! We couldn't be more thrilled to be invited to GaylaCake to share conversations with those in the Jacobsville community. Anyone is welcome to attend this event, to enjoy great cupcakes and conversations with members of the Evansville Police Department.
The next Cupcake with a Cop is coming up Tuesday, September 13th, 11 am - 1 pm.
