Evansville Animal Care & Control's Jeep Poker Run Is Back and It's Open to Everyone

Calling all jeepers! Actually, you don't even have to have a jeep to be apart of this event! If you are looking for a fun way to support local animals while spending a Saturday on the road, this is for you. Evansville Animal Care & Control is bringing back its popular Jeep Poker Run, and the best part is you don't even need a Jeep to participate.

All Vehicles Are Welcome

Despite the name, cars, trucks, SUVs, and Jeeps are all invited to join the fun. Organizers say there will be no gravel roads this year, making the route easier for every type of vehicle.

The event will begin and end at Evansville Animal Care & Control, located at 815 Uhlhorn Street.

Registration starts at 9 a.m., and participants will hit the road at 10 a.m. Entry is $30 per vehicle.

More Than Just a Poker Run

Even if you're not competing for the best poker hand, there will be plenty happening throughout the morning.

Guests can browse a silent auction, with some items available in the director's office and others featured on the shelter's Facebook page. The first 50 participants will receive a goodie bag, and one lucky participant will take home the Top Dawg Jeep award.

EACC T-shirts will also be available for purchase.

Looking to Adopt?

One of the highlights of the event is the chance to save on pet adoption fees.

There will be reduced adoption prices, and every adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations, and a microchip.

Feeling lucky? Be sure to stop by the Duck Pond, where you'll pick a rubber duck to reveal your adoption fee. It's a fun twist that could save you even more while helping a pet find a forever home.

Supporting Local Shelter Animals

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Evansville Animal Care & Control Spirit Fund, helping offset adoption fees and making it easier for more animals to find loving homes.

A few things to keep in mind before you head out: the shelter itself will be closed during the event, but a portable restroom will be available for participants.
