Mental Floss has issued a very important report regarding holiday food preferences for each state just prior to Thanksgiving!  They site General Mills and BettyCrocker.com for compiling their data, who seem like a pretty valid source of all things home-cookin'.  They've studied buying patterns for each state in the U.S.A. and their results are interesting.

I feel like Kentucky and Illinois are fairly logical and sensible choices that I can get behind, but here in the Hoosier State I may need to demand a recount.  According to this study, Indiana's favorite food at Thanksgiving is...  Peanut butter cookies?

I mean don't get me wrong, I like peanut butter cookies as much as the next fellow, but I don't think I know ANYBODY here that would list it as their FAVORITE food this time of year!  Like I mentioned above, Kentucky and Illinois seem a bit more in line with my way of thinking.  Illinois reportedly loves their mashed potatoes, which is WAY closer to my favorite Thanksgiving food than anything else.  And while I'm not a big fan of them, Kentucky is report to be loyal to their chicken and dumplings, which sounds right to me?

What do YOU think?  Does this survey represent you?  Or did your favorite not make the cut this year?  Comment below!
