Once in a while, I'll ask my seven-year-old daughter to stop growing up. She always answers with, "I can't help it! I have to grow up!" I know she's right but it's hard to image her ever not playing with dolls and building massive forts in my living room. Someday she will have to pay bills just like the rest of us.

Though I do try to teach her things along the way -  things like folding laundry, cooking dinner, and even using her money wisely - kids always seem to think their parents are morons and quite literally any other adult figure is much more qualified to teach them. I did it to my parents - she does it to me - it's a cycle.

Thankfully, the Vanderburgh 4-H program is offering virtual adulting classes for teens in 8th grade up to incoming high school seniors.

The class starts today, June 1st and lasts four weeks. You can still register if you are interested in joining but do so soon. This self-paced online experience covers topics like self care, career exploration, budgeting, resumes, writing cover letters, interviewing, etiquette, and stress management. Activities will be posted online weekly so participants can work through them at their own pace.
