
University of Evansville to Debut Bold New Mural Under the Lloyd Expressway
A Colorful Surprise Awaits Under the Lloyd Expressway
The University of Evansville campus will soon be buzzing with activity and excitement as students and staff prepare for the Fall 2025 semester. The university hopes to have a special surprise ready to unveil before everyone arrives.
UE’s Iconic Colors Take Center Stage
The University of Evansville, along with local contractor Turpen Painting, is working on a brand-new mural that will be prominently displayed under the Lloyd Expressway at Weinbach Avenue. The design is simple, but bold, featuring UE’s iconic purple, orange, and white logo.

A Gateway That Can’t Be Missed
Once completed, the mural will be visible on both the east- and west-facing walls beneath the expressway, where it will be seen by thousands of drivers each day. There will be no mistake that drivers are near the beautiful University of Evansville campus!
Noah Alatza, UE’s Chief Communications Officer, says,
The mural will provide a vibrant new gateway to campus and help highlight the University’s strong connection to the city of Evansville. It’s a bold and visible way to show our pride and create a sense of arrival.

Longtime Aces fans and everyone else driving under the Lloyd at Weinbach won’t be able to miss this colorful new landmark. For once, it will be some orange that we don’t mind seeing in Evansville.

The mural is set to be completed by August 21, just in time to welcome students for the 2025-2026 school year. Keep your eyes peeled for final photos and updates as the big reveal approaches.
